Conference aims

Puerto de la Cruz (Tenerife - Canary Islands) will held the 6th edition of the International Mediterranean and Latin American Modeling Multiconference in 2009. This new edition is intended to be a unique opportunity to meet together and discuss about every topic related to Modelling and Simulation surrounded by the incomparable framework of the so-called "Fortunate Islands".

IJSPM special issue

We are very glad to announce that this edition we will count again with an International Journal of Simulation and Process Modelling (IJSPM) double special issue:

Industry and Supply Chain: Technical, Economic and Environmental Sustainability

Guest Editor: Francesco Longo, Modeling & Simulation Center – Laboratory of Enterprise Solutions, (MSC-LES), Mechanical Department, University of Calabria, Italy.

Modeling & Applied Simulation: Advanced Methodologies and Techniques

Guest Editor: Agostino Bruzzone, MISS-DIPTEM, University of Genoa, Italy.
Guest Editor: Ivan Castilla Rodriguez, University de La Laguna, Spain.

Both special issues are based on collection of best papers submitted and presented at the international multi-conference I3M 2009. Authors intending to submit an article to this Special Issue should submit their camera ready papers to the multi-conference I3M 2009 (including EMSS 2009, MAS 2009, HMS 2009).

I hope that you all have taken profit from the interesting contributions we have collected and have enjoyed the natural environment of Tenerife.

I3M 2009 is officially closed but I sincerely wish that we could meet in following editions. Please remember that you can see the photos of the event in our facebook profile.

In Memoriam

Professor Ludvik Bogataj, received MSc. Degrees: Operations Research, at University of  Ljubljana, 1975, and Mathematics, at University of Zagreb, 1985 and Doctor of Science Degrees from University of Ljubljana in 1979: Information – Management Science and in 1989: Mathematics. He started his teaching at University of Maribor. He was Professor of Mathematics in Economics at University of Ljubljana and Head of KMOR. He was member of many Scientific Committees in international and Slovenian Journals and Proceedings. He was author, co-author, or editor/coeditor, of 13 books, author or co-author of 134 articles, essays and working papers, of which 32 have been published in scientific journals. He was leading researcher or he has participated substantially at 24 research projects.

On behalf of I3M Local and International Committee, we would like to thank his invaluable contribution to this conference and offer our sincerest condolences to his wife, Professor Marija Bogataj, the rest of his family and friends.
